UPDATE ON LOPEZ SUBSTATION ENERGIZATION

CENECO is now waiting for the approval of the documentary requirements submitted to National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) with regards to the energization of the newly installed 10MVA power transformer at Lopez substation as replacement for the busted 5MVA power transformer. This is to address the power reliability and loading capacity issues at Silay City causing several power interruptions since August 2, 2020.

On the other hand, NGCP has informed CENECO that the new power circuit breaker for the capacitor in Talisay substation is now ready for installation. The said NGCP power circuit breaker was damaged since February 2020 causing under voltage in some areas of Talisay and Silay cities. The delay in the replacement was due to the current pandemic.

Rest assured that CENECO is constantly coordinating with NGCP for the immediate energization of the 10MVA power transformer of Lopez substation and likewise the replacement of the power circuit breaker to resolve the power and loading capacity problems in Silay City.

We apologize for the inconvenience brought about by power interruptions and hope for your understanding and patience as we do not want this situation to happen.

Thank you.
