CENECO Holds Simultaneous Tree Planting and Line Clearing Activities to Mark NEA Month

Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CENECO) together with the 120 electric cooperatives nationwide, planted 1,300 mangrove propagules and cleared power lines in Bago City on August 24, 2023.

 

 

The mangrove planting activity was held in Brgy. Sampinit, Bago City, and was led by CENECO Board of Directors President Jojit Yap, CENECO employees, representatives from the City Environment Management Office (CEMO), and the Bantay Katunggan Association. The activity aimed to restore and protect the coastal ecosystem.

Meanwhile, the line clearing activity was conducted in Purok Camingawan, Brgy. Taloc, Bago City. The activity involved clearing and maintaining power distribution lines to enhance the safety and reliability of CENECO’s electrical infrastructure.

 

These activities were in line with the National Electrification Awareness Month (NEAM), which highlights the importance of electrification in community development. CENECO’s participation in these activities demonstrates its commitment to providing sustainable energy solutions and empowering communities.
