BACOLOD City – The scheduled election for officers today in three districts of Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) has been postponed following the National Electrification Administration’s (NEA) Memorandum No. 2020-010 ordering its deferment in view of Proclamation No. 929 declaring a state of calamity throughout the Philippines due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The districts are District IV – Bacolod East, District V – Bacolod West, and District VIII – Talisay City.
Ceneco officer-in-charge Jose Taniongon said the cooperative was bowing to the directive.
On the other hand, the March 14 district election for District I – Bacolod North, District VI – Bago City and District IX – Silay City pushed through.
District 1 director Joyce Martha Cuenca and District VI director Robert Javellana were re-elected members of the Ceneco Board of Directors.
District IX elected a new representative to the board, Engineer Nicanor Jison.
In a related development, Ceneco granted a payment extension to member-consumer-owners(MCOs). The bill due for this month (March) was extended to next month (April).
Taniongon said because Ceneco cares for the health and safety of the MCOs and minimize physical human interaction, the cooperative encourages the use of banks’ online transfer facility to pay electricity bills.
MCOs may pay to Ceneco’s Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC), Banco de Oro (BDO), or East West Bank (EWB) accounts as follows:
* Account Name: Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc.
* Account Number: RCBC, 1419300809; BDO, 2970000470; EWB, 200021974926.
Non-RCBC, BDO, and EWB clients may still transfer funds using their bank’s online fund transfer facility through the use of InstaPay and PesoNet.
Verified GCASH and PayMaya users may also opt to pay using the fund transfer facility to the Ceneco bank accounts, Taniongon added./PN
